Which shoes to buy for nursing clinicals?

Keds-type shoes vs. nursing clogs? Which do most people wear and which do you find to be most comfortable? Thanks!

My school requires "tennis" shoes, no mesh tops and all white. So I own a pair of cross trainers that fit that bill, they are leather and comfortable. No bodily fluids get through those! We aren't allowed clogs at all, and Keds type shoes don't have enough support. Start thinking about your back and feet now so that you aren't killing yourself.

When I graduate in December then I'll be looking for some Dansko's :D

Our school doesn't allow clogs, all shoes must have a back and they suggest all leather sneakers in white. I got a pair of white new balance sneakers that are slip resistant off of zappos. I love them, they have great support and I put in additional inserts for extra cushion!

I bought some white Nike Cortez, which are leather and comfortable. I am a guy, but I think they make them for women too. I was looking for a shoe that didn't look totally lame, but still fit my school's requirements. Here is a pic of them if you are curious:

I guess it depends on your school's requirements. My school requires white or black leather sneakers or Danskos-type clogs (they have to have a back like Danskos do). I really like Danskos, but a lot of people prefer sneakers. As long as you meet your dress code the most important thing is to decide which you will be more comfortable in while on your feet for hours at a time. Everyone's feet are different, so find what works for you.

I wear landau nursing shoes. I like them okay I guess. Most shoes just hurt my feet anyway, so I guess I'm just doomed for achy feet every day after clinical lol

I'd get the uniform standards and make sure you follow it to a T because some clinical instructors will send you home. Some require white shoes that have no mesh others allow mesh. I wouldn't wear shoes without backings on them.

I have Reebok shoes that are all white with a small logo and no mesh. They hurt my feet when I wear them. I am going to burn them if I pass this semester.

I swear by Sanita! I can do a twelve hour shift and my feet are fine. They do have white leather and also carry KOI patent leather white.

How expensive are these? My feet always kill me with my landau shoes!! My nursing shoes have to be white with a back on the heel. Also, leather of course.

They are fairly expensive, I believe around $120.00. You can try searching for factory seconds which are just as good. Try Clog kingdom, or Shoebacca.

I bought Danskos. I'm a Dansko snob, so it's all I will wear in terms of nursing. :) They are expensive, but real leather, which mean they adapt to your foot shape. They also last forever.

My clinical is only 5 hours 4x week fwiw.
