Someone asked me to start a thread re a book I found to help develop my critical thinking skills before I actually start school. It's called Critical Thinking in Nursing -A Practical Approach found here. I think I first heard of it on this board and it has good reviews at Amazon. Better yet, the used price starts at 78 cents!!

I'm only on the 2nd chapter but so far, it is written in a very clear and easy to understand manner. I will list the chapters:

1. Overview: What is critical thinking and why is it important?

2. How to think critically

3. Critical thinking in nursing: an overview

4. Critical thinking in nursing: beyond clinical judgment

5. Practicing critical thinking skills: up close and personal

6. Applied critical thinking: mastering common workplace skills

I also ordered Critical Thinking Activities For Nursing from Amazon - another bargain at $2.34. I haven't gotten it yet so I can't comment on it. I will post when I receive it.
