Senior nursing student need encouragement

Hey Guys,

Im a senior nursing student who just needs some encouragement, because im so stressed out... Class started on tuesday and they gave us a math test on Peds calculations and I didn't do well.:( I really need to pass the next quiz so that I can master these concepts. (Any peds calculation links would be helpful... because my Medical calculation book has a small section on peds and it leave me clueless) I also have other issues going on in my life thats stressing me out. Im also worried about the Hesi because im not a good test taker, and I want to do well in all my exams this semester. SIGH.... Any advice or encouragement would be very helpful... Thanks

First off congrats on becoming a senior!! That alone is a huge accomplishment, you have managed to make it this far, which means you CAN make it the rest of the way. :heartbeat

As you know, the key is just to focus on the moment. You can't change that quiz grade but you can study hard to make sure you pass the next one. Try and look online to see if there is a good book on peds calculations. That is what I would try to do.

As for stresses in your life, remember what your goal is. I have no idea what the stresses are, so I don't want to minimize them. But keep your eye on the prize. You are almost there, you are where I would love to be, so just keep focused, and give yourself a tiny bit of fun time.

Hi nursing21, I'm sorry you're going through tough times. I don't know what your faith is but I'll encourage you first of all to keep a positive attitude..if you've made it this far, I believe you can do it. God can give you the strength and help to get through whatever you're going through..PRAY. Seek tutoring in this class from your school...you absolutely CAN turn this around if you get taught, study hard, have a can-do and never-give -up attitude and pray.

Always keep your eyes on your goal..if you have to repeat to yourself every morning (audibly) "I know I will excell and I would be an amazing life-changing RN" then do it! Do not let anyone discourage you because this is your life and this is your dream! With God, nothing is impossible!

you'll be fine. 1 year from now when you're RN, you'll have a totally different kind of stress and this will be all over with! Just keep looking at the light at the end of the tunnel - you're verrry close to it!

Calm down, take a deep breath and look what you've accomplished over the last year. Just like you made it through fundamentals, you will make it through this year.
