Recorders?

I have one that goes about 2 hours before I have to flip the tape. I like it because I can listen to a part I may have missed in class and take further notes from it.

Mine's a GE. Had it since LPN school.

PS I'm taking Micro this summer too.....gonna need ALL the help I can get! :)

There are some that tape, for two and even three hours at a time. I used mine for the first little bit but I couldn't stand it anymore. Too much fuzz even with earphones.

I have an all digital recorder/MP3 player that I used this past semester for A&P. It allows me to record up to 10 hours I think. Very compact and fit my shirt pocket. Nice thing about it was that it could store both MP3 music and voice recordings. I usually stored 3 or so lectures on it and listened to them while I commuted. I also decided to upload them and store them on my computer for reference. From there I burned a CD to listen to them on a CD player without running down my batteries.

Yep, that was one of the big reasons I bought it. I wanted to be able to save the lectures on my computer for future listening pleasure! :) The player save the files in a proprietary compressed format that you upload, then you can convert it with the software that comes with the device to either MP3 format or .WAV format for making audio CD's. I just love it and will put it use this summer in Microbiology and Physiology.

I used a recorder in A & PII and found it very helpful. It was especially helpful on those concepts that were difficult to understand and I had to go over them and over them. (I am getting old and have to hear things several times before they sink in.) I just used a small recorder like what the doctors use for dictation and it was fine. Good Luck!

My community college also offers A&P with lab as an online course. I was wondering if any of you have taken this type of science class this way, and how did it work out? Since this is my first pre-requisite course I am taking, I think I will go to the the regular class offered at the collegel, but I wanted to see what the pros and cons would be from taking this course online???

RN2007, I took both a&p 1&2 online.....i'd advise you to take traditional class if you can.

Pros - u can attend school any time of the day or nite (i'm a nite owl so it worked great for me), u can take ur tests in ur pjs if you want to :)

Cons - no face to face contact, the same amount of reading i guess, but WAY more assignments (so they can tell ur up to speed on things), if you have questions trying to get in touch with a teacher can be hard (mine was an EXTREME procrastinator....and RARELY checked her email)

i guess it really depends on what type of learner you are tho.

i've had to supplement my texts with several things to make me make sense of it (if that makes any sense :) ) like a&p made easy and the coloring books and alot of different websites (i even bought the dummies book....BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!!) but i did whatever i could to make myself understand it.

all in all tho, i liked it mainly because i could continue to work and go to school.
