Really need some advice

Hi all - I am sitting the Nursing Enterance Exam on the 11th. My question is, The learning center at my school gave me a website wtih materials that are based around the NET, there is an unbelivable amount of information from basic maths right on up through at LEAST algebra 2. The science and English parts have just as much information. I am feeling really stressed when going through this stuff and I know I will never cover it all before the 11th. I have the RN pre enterance exam book by Mary E Mcdonald. I am wondering if I should just put my time and energy into that book instead of worrying about the website? Did everyone just use the review manual or is there something else I should be doing? Thank you if you managed to read this all, I could really use some opinions! :uhoh3:

The NET is so easy as to be almost a joke. Don't stress about the website. I'd work on the book and just focus on the basic math. There wasn't anything harder than multiplying and dividing fractions as far as I can remember. Know how to divide decimals and cross cancel.

Sooooo easy. Really. Make some extra points by learning study tips (the website may come in handy for this). I was surprised at some of the questions ont he NET related to guessing on multiple choice tests (if you have to guess what is the best letter to guess? It's C).

You'll do fine.

All you need is the Net study guide. The NET really is pretty basic. I am horrid at math and had no problems. You should be able to find it in your bookstore or online.

Here is the study guide for purchase online: Educational Resources Inc. - Detail

Here is a downloadable free PDF study guide for the exam:

And some tips on taking the NET:

Good luck. You will do fine! :)

Well now I am finding out that the NET and NLN are different? I am actually taking the NLN exam. Do you know if htey are similar?

Yeh, the NET is really not hard at all. It's basic math and English, really.

Well i guess the NET and the NLN are different? I am doing the NLN, Not the NET. Anyone know much about the NLN? thanks!

When I took the NET last October, I had maybe 4 algebra questions. I have been out of school for over 35 years & have forgotten most of the algebra I learned in HS. I still didn't have too much trouble. If I couldn't figure out the answer, I just took the answers & ruled out the wrong ones & guessed on the right one.

The NET really isn't that difficult. In my school it isn't used to decided who can be accepted. It is used to show the teachers just who might need extra help.

One test we did do was an eye opener for me. It measured how quickly you read & understand what you read. I love to read but never do it for speed. I found that my reading speed is slower than most people. It must not matter much though as I got my grades yesterday for my first quarter. I have 4 grade point average.
