Question for future nursing student

we actually didn't focus on u/s at all during our ob rotation. that was left up to the doc. we only acted on what his/her interpretation of the u/s.

I'm just finishing my OB semester. We didn't really focus on US training either, just had to know what it was. One of the things we did focus on was fetal heart monitoring and what the patterns of the heart rate indicate. That might be more within the realm of labor and delivery nursing, if you have a hard time finding info on the US stuff.

We also have not really looked at u/s other than like RN2bNC know what it is, why it is used, and what is it used for.

Same here... all we looked at were the monitor, how to read the strips...and sometimes nonstress testing we got to see.. depending on the day...we spent more time doing post partum care really than L&D

Sorry sweetie we didn't do anything with u/s either. Maybe you could do your thing on ralxation techs for moms or something. I hope you get some answers.

US is pretty specialized, like radiology. I think Ultrasound diagnostics would be an entirely separate certification wouldn't it? Natural childbirth methods, Fetal monitoring, there's lot's of other material. Why not ask at the OB board too?
