Preparing for Semester 3

Nursing Students General Students

I just completed my second semester of nursing school. I really struggled this semester and I did manage to pass concepts 1, but barely. Even though I am happy I passed I am really concerned about next semester because I have heard from several friends who are ahead of me that the 3rd semester is one of the hardest. So this is my question, what can I do over my break to help prepare me for 3rd semester? I can say this, most of my struggling was with the testing format. I am very confident that I knew the information and my instructor agreed that she felt like I knew the material, I just had trouble testing. Anyone have any suggestions about how to best utilize my break time so that I am prepared for concepts 3?

I suggest you work on questions and finding a way to do better on test. I just completed nursing III and it was my hardest semester. I survived after having better grades in lower level, so if you struggling now if you don't adjust your technique some you may find yourself in trouble next semester. Good luck just keep trying and give it your all you can do it. Only 147 days until graduation!

I suggest buying this book from Amazon. It is such a beautifully written complete and concise book of the different topics and nursing interventions that will be tested on the NCLEX. Your professors are teaching you to pass the NCLEX so you need to buy a book that will help you to best answer and retain the important information (out of the plethora of reading assigned to you as a student) and apply it to the clinical scenarios/questions.

It is the fifth edition but there is one for the sixth edition. From what I gathered from reviewers of people who bought the fifth there is not much difference between both editions. Its like $30 cheaper to the buy fifth. I have the fifth and I'm still doing great on my exams.

Totally agree with strawberryluv Saunder NCLEX review was the best thing ever. I swear by it
