I am wondering if a student can challenge the licencing exam without finishing the PN schooling? If that student had straight A's?

I think that state BONs have specific guidelines as to who can challenge the exam; although in my state one must complete the state regulated educational hours to finish nursing school have the school certifying that they met the required hours in ordered be approved to sit for the NCLEX.

I would be surprised to find any state that will allow this, but of course I don't know every states guidelines. What I do know is that each stats has clinical hour and theory completion requirements. It doesn't matter if you have the highest grade in the entire school, not having completed the program means you likely haven't met the requirements for the state.

in my state, no. You would need to pass the NCLEX and the only way to do that is with the blessings from the school you graduated from

No. All states with LPNs mandate a candidate graduate from a program. Some states permit RN students to challenge the NCLEX PN for a license only valid in that state
