Has anyone taken pathophysiology in an online format? Do you feel you learned what you needed or do you wish you had gone to a class?

Thanks!

Bump...I'm curious too.

Specializes in pedi, pedi psych,dd, school ,home health.

me, too..thats my next semester!

Specializes in Med/Surg, Ortho.

I didnt do it online, but i think it would be kind of difficult not to have the in person explaination/clearifications and the feedback from other students to help understand some of it. Will be interesting to see what someone who has done it online has to say.

I wouldn't do it online.

I took this class in a classroom setting and it was extremely difficult. I cannot imagine taking this class online unless everything is spelled out for you. I wasn't a nursing student and much of the terminiology went way over my head. The instructor, who was very knowledgeable, would lecture in this language that seemed like Chinese to me. I had to spend 2 hours after each lecture looking up all the terms in my Taber's medical dictionary and then translate it to my language. The subject matter is very extensive and if you've never had patho, then I wouldn't recommend an online course.

It all depends on how good the online course is. The online course objectives need to be specifically spelled-out and realistic, then the exams need to test to those objectives. When that's the case, there's no surprises. Unfortunately, there are alot of johnny-come-lately colleges offering online courses that don't have a clue.

I don't know about patho, but I've taken several online course from Rio Salado and they seem to be the best in this regard.

You've taken an online course at my college, haven't you?!
