Hi students....I was wondering if theres any OKC students here in a 2 yr program. If so which school would u recommend...also i was considering going to Platt College, or something like that getting my LPN..then doing the Advanced Standing and getting my RN, cause i see already that its way too hard getting in a 2 yr program....what would you suggest as the school ladder and what school,etc...thanks Tesha!!!:kiss

Celeste, my two kids are the same age as your youngest kids. I have 2 & 3 year old boys that are 12 1/2 months apart.

You definitely need more than 95 points to apply. They just used that as the minimum to even accept your application. For the fall semester the lowest points someone got in with is 119. The semester before that it was 108. It's getting harder and harder to get in every semester. I would suggest to try to get that math score up because it will help you have more points for your nursing application.

Have you enrolled in classes yet? If you have what classes do you have?0

I agree with Cynthia, try your best to get 60 points for the COMPASS cause the more points you have the better off you are.

I think we need a support group for student moms!

For instance I will have over 130 points when I apply this Spring for the fall class. I am pretty confident I should have no problem getting in. But dont stress about it, just take it one step at a time and you will do great! Dont take so many classes that your grades will suffer either.

Ya let us know what classes you are taking next semester. I am taking Micro, Physiology, Sociology and World Religion (or something like that). I take 2 at the campus and 2 online.

Good luck!

Marilyn

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! I appreciate it. Math isn't my forte...but its dh's (he's up to Calculus 4, and engineering math and all that super brainy jazz). He has offered to help me brush up so that I could score higher on the math part, I should probably take him up on it soon, huh. Its tempting to just blow it off since its not required. But to get the points it makes much more sense to re-test and do better on it. Like I said before, I am going to retest on the reading. I just had really bad jitters the first time I tested, and blanked on a lot of it. I have CNA/HHA certifications and have had health training, so that helps with points too. Anyhow you are right I should retest on the math and accumulate more to be on the safe side.

Have you gotten your immunizations and physicals done? Or do you wait until closer to application time to do that?

My classes are all on campus this semester:

Intro to Psych

Nutrition

US History to 1877 &

Eng. I

I want to take A&P next...maybe Micro too. We'll see, I wanted to ease myself back into this school thing, after all its been 14 years since I was in school.

Anyhow, thanks again for the help and encouragement.
