Can anyone help me with my nutrition class?

It seems as though no matter what I do for studying be it the book- (directly reading the chapters) to looking at the powerpoints our instructor does post. I even take the time to do the study guides that she puts out. It seems though no matter what I try myself and over half of my classmates still aren't getting it. I currently have a high C in the class but that is still not enough for me to consider doing well even though most of my friends and colleagues are completely fine with it.

Can I get some sort of tips for the class from any previous takers?

I got an A in nutrition and I wonder if your professor may be the issue, because the material is not that hard. Maybe he/she is making it that way? I always did the end of chapter reviews, took notes while I read the chapters, and I found the subject very interesting so lectures didn't put me to sleep . Talk to your professor, let them know you want to do well and ask if they have any tips on how to best prepare for tests. One great thing my professor always did was an outline of her lectures and her tests always come from the outline. That makes it so much easier to focus on what you absolutely have to know.

I know it's hard for students to believe sometimes, but faculty really do want you to learn the material and succeed. Most teach because they love the material and want to share their excitement about it.

No, don't you roll your eyes at me, young lady! :)

I don't see anything in your post about going to discuss this with your teacher. She has office hours for a reason. Go every week. Ask to go over the exam and have her explain to you where you messed up and recommend other study materials for you.

My daughter the professor (not of nursing) had this haiku up on her office door:

Office hours.

Once again, no one comes in.

Perhaps they'll all fail.

Do not be that student.

I promise I didn't roll my eyes~! xD

I will have to talk with her.

I mean on our first two tests I did do the study guides for but none of the info on the study guide was on the test.
