nursing school interviews

Hi everybody!

I'm new here so bear with me....

I was wondering does anybody have any advice and/or tips for nursing school interviews?

And does anybody know of the typical questions they may ask? what do they specifically look for when they interview you?

I am such a nervous wreck right now. I just freak out during interviews (no matter what type) and considering I didn't apply to many schools...the pressure is on. =T

I am from California and I applied to those accelerated Master's Entry Program in Nursing, selecting Gerontology Nurse Practitioner as my specialty.

ANYTHING WILL HELP! and THANKS AHEAD OF TIME!!!! =]

Specializes in pediatric/school nursing.

When I had my interviews at 2 different schools, they both asked me the same basic questions: why do I want to be a nurse, tell me about yourself, where do you see yourself 5 or so years from now. I would just say go in there being confident with yourself and just be you, thats what they want to see. Good luck:roll

I just had my two interviews for the Accelerated Master's program I applied to (and just got accepted to!) in October. They look for the obvious things, like dedication to nursing, realism about the profession, and things like how motivated are you, how well-spoken, how focused. I went in knowing as much as I possibly could about the program I applied to, along with having concrete examples of what I liked about this program specifically and why this school was my number-one choice. Hope this helps, and good luck! Keep us posted.
