My school is not yet accredited by the NLN. They do have canidate status.

Is this going to hurt me when I have to look for a job?

it is also an associates degree so if it will hurt me will going to an accredited bsn program help?

So my question is this...

If someone decides to attend a school for an ADN and the school is in candidate status. However, the school also has atriculation agreements with 3 NLNAC schools so you may move on to your BSN. I would think this at least gives a person options if they decide to attend. Correct?

I'd say it depends the employers in your area. You'll be licensed as a graduate from an unaccredited ADN program, so if hospitals require you be a graduate from an accredited program, you won't qualify. If hospitals don't care, then it definitely opens you up for opportunities.

Here in AZ the State Board requires you to graduate from an accredited school to be eligible to take the NCLEX.

If you started at a school without accreditation and they didn't get it, you'd be SOL.

I just checked the AZ BON website, and it talks about graduation from an "approved" school of nursing (as in approved by the BON of the state in which the school is located). I didn't see anything about an NLNAC or CCNE accreditation requirement. AFAIK, there is no state in the US that requires NLNAC/CCNE accreditation in order for graduates to be eligible for licensure. If I'm wrong about that, I'm happy to be corrected. :)
