Night Shift Woes...When Do You Sleep On Your Days Off????
I don't know of this is the best thing to do but I sleep from about 10 am-4pm on the days I work. Like others said I like to be on a normal schedule on my days off. So when coming to a day off I sleep only about 2-3 hours maybe 4 just so I am not exhausted and then sleep a normal night that night

nursing homes and large patient to nurse ratio
I just started a new job in a nursing home and I am having a hard time. I have about 26 residents to take care of and I basically spend the whole time giving meds. I have no time for treatments or documentation. All my documentation usually gets done after my shift is over. They also expect us to check each medication 3 times before giving it to the patient. How am I supposed to do that? I hardly have time to check it once. They also wonder why so many patients have pressure ulcers. I can tell you why. It's because we have so much to do that there is no time to turn and re-position patients. Any advice and encouragement is really appreciated.

Night shift help
I just started a 11p-7a shift in a LTC facility and I am having a hard time adjusting. I am always tired and can't seem to get into a routine. I have only been working for about a week but I don't know how I can go on. I said when I started I will do this for a year and then look for a new job in a hospital, but I don't know if I will last a year. I can use any suggestions you may have for surviving the night shift.

finally!!
I finally got a job! After 5 months of searching I got a job in a nursing home. Its not my dream job but I will take it for the experience. My advice to everyone looking for jobs is to give your resume to everyone you know. I gave my resume to so many people. This job I got from giving my resume to one person who gave it to someone else who gave it to the nursing home. Just spread your resume to everyone you know because you never know who will connect you to a job. Good luck.

I am sure this has already been asked but I couldn't find it. Is an online RN to BSN program inferior to a regular school?

ADN or BSN Please give me your opinon!! (Mom with a 1 year old)
I think you should go straight for your BSN. I have a ADN and I am having a lot of difficulty finding a job. I have heard that there are some places that most nurses only have and ADN so unless where you live is one of those places I would suggest going for the

OR Circulator vs. PACU
Wow! thanks everyone I may have a job offer in one of these 2 areas. It looks to me that it is almost unanimous to go for the PACU. If they give me the job and a choice I will go for that.

no one wants to talk to me
I have been looking for more then 2 months and have only one interview for a job that I knew I wasn't going to take. I didn't send them my resume, I gave it to a friend who gave it to someone else who gave it to them (I think). I have tried going into places and handing them my resume but no one wants to take it. They say to go online and submit it there, with an application. They also say that you shouldn't contact them and that if they are interested they will contact you. I am trying to be more then just another resume but no one will talk to me so I cant do that. Any suggestions.
