Next semster I am going to take AP 1 and nurtion. I have a two year old son. So far this semster has been a breeze. History and Intro to Humanities. I was thinking about adding another class. That would be Art History or Philosphy(sp). Both of these classes are 6000 word classes. Dumb Florida laws!! That would mean I would have to write a paper a week. I want to get good grades in other two. So my question is do you think I should add on the other class or just worry about the two that are more important to my RN?

Those are 2 HEAVY classes!! Esp. A&P. Don't add any thing else!
Do one of those other classes in the summer or something.

I think I am just going to take the two. I really want to do well in those classes. You are given points based on what you make in those classes. Thanks for all the imput !!!

A&P is demanding, I'm just finishing 1st semster and the whole semester has just been one huge exam after another. Plus before we're tested on one thing, we're already starting lecture for the next thing, and you have to keep up or you get barried. If you want some time for your son, stick w/ only 2. Nutrition, psych, and other general ed crap has always been easy for me, but these classes like Chem and Micro and A&P are doosies. Take the lower load and get A's, you can always catch up in summer school.

It is a hard call to give advise to someone. Much success to you in what ever you decide.

I have been in your shoes. Distance Ed. classes were my saving grace. I was able to take Nutrition along with some other courses via distance Ed. I took both A&P I &II on Saturdays. I took Microbiology on campus but only for lab; my lecture was on video tape. This allowed me to only have to be on campus two days a week for about an hour and 50 minutes. If you have the option of taking any of your prereqs via distance ed I would highly recommend it. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to be very disciplined to get the work done on your own time. I found that my daughters nap times always turned in to me trying to get all the household stuff done so I started a ritual of waking up early and doing my work. That way I'd have the bulk of it done before my daughter and husband woke. Hope this helps.

You're doing the right thing by concentrating on the important stuff right now. A&P is really time consuming, but really fun and interesting. At least it was for me. I had a great teacher! Keep up the good work!
