I am a freshman nursing student and in my A and P class we have to learn the 12 cranial nerves. I know that there are a couple little sayings out there to help remember them but I do not remember all of the one I heard before. I know the one was a little sick, but I don't care if it helps me to remember them. I would be very appreciative if someone would reply in the forum or in email if anyone knows what I am talking about or where I could find the sayings.

Thank you very much.

This might sound stupid but it worked for me when I was taking boards many years ago. Write them all down and then find a song you can sing them to, or make one up. I have used this method many times to help me remember certain things and you know what, once you make a song out of it, you'll never forget it. To this day I still remember the little songs we made up to remember certain things.....just a thought.

I am taking my first A &P 2 lab exam on the Eye and Ear next Wednesday evening. My professor wants us to know the cranial nerves..(as a bonus questions)...also as a review for us from A & P 1. Thanks for the suggestion.

The one to remember whether it is sensory, motor or both is this.....Silly Sally's Mother Makes Big Maroon Balls Sail By Bob's Blue Mercedes. This is in order of the cranial nerves and the S's are sensory, the M's are motor, and the B's are both. Hope this helps!

Specializes in Cardiothoracic Transplant Telemetry.

My anatomy professor was kind enough to give us one that the girls would like, and one that the girls would like. One of them is the racy one that several people have mentioned. The other, and the one that I used was: Oh, Oh, Oh, to touch and feel a guys viagra activated hard-on

We also had to learn which nerves were sensory, motor or mixed, and the pneumonic for that one was: Some say my mother bought my brother some bad beer, my, my. S=sensory, M=motor, and b=both

Good luck, and I hope that it helps
