I am having a hard time with the IVP calculations  and was wondering if anyone knew of a website that could help with this. I've searched online and not really found anything. Thank you very much in advance and if anyone has any great tips or advice to make it simpler to understand I'd love that too!!!

ok ..here is an example of a problem we were given. what i am having problems with is how much to give/inject in the prescribed time and calculating certain problems.

order: solumedrol 60mg. ivp q 8 hours

on hand: solumedrol 100mg/cc

policy: up to 100mg to be given over 1 minute

thanks.

dose ordered: 60mg

dose on hand: 100mg/cc (or ml)

i use ratio and proportion

60mg/x cc = 100mg/ 1 cc

cross multiply

x=0.6cc (or 0.6 ml) you push the 0.6 cc over one minute. you cant exceed 1 ml/min (or 100mg), but since he dose ordered is under that amount, then you are fine to push the med.
