I am in real need of help with my science. Math and vocab I'm not as concerned with, but when it comes to science it's a trouble spot. Would it make sense to get regular science tutors or are there any tutors for the PAX exam? I really want to pass the PAX. My test is on April 15th and I was thinking of getting a tutor once or twice a week to really help me.

Also I've done the practice tests so much on the CD that comes with NLN RN book to the point that I know the answers already. I just wanted to make sure I'm ready for this upcoming test.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Personally, the PAX covers way too much range in science for a tutor to be beneficial. Literally it covers bio, chemistry, basic A&P, and physics. I would make sure you understand the basic concepts covered in the review book.

I didn't study science much when I took my PAX, nor have I ever taken Physics, and the last time I had taken chemistry was 10 years ago. I still managed to score in the 99th%, although mainly because I did very very well in the math portion, decently well in the English, and ok in the science.

I had a PAX NLN book and then an additional PAX book to prepare for more questions; no tutor needed; did well enough to score in the 92nd percentile.

I'm trying to get into the local community college (purely because I make very little income) RN program. I need a min of 45 in each of the 3 subjects to get considered by the school. I don't know what percentile that is really.

What I've been doing is all the questions I got wrong I would go and youtube and research the topics on the questions and the answers.

Just thought I'd update. I am officially in the nursing program! ::) Thank you for your inputs. I greatly appreciated it. This means so much as right now I work i a dead end job with extremely low pay. I am looking forward to this experience and have already bought several books and software to help me get through the program. Again, thank you for your inputs!!
