I made it, others didn't

Today is a happy-sad day. Finished my third semester of my accelerated program- only one left to go! I rocked my final med surg semester and will get an A in that class. That alone feels like something to celebrate.

however, out of our class of 27, three students didn't pass one of the classes and can't continue on to our final semester. They have the option of waiting for the next cohort to catch up and then retaking the class, but I'm

not sure if they will or not. One of the people who didn't pass was one of my very good friends in the program and missed it by less than one point. So hard and I'm really sad for her. Not that I don't understand the policies and respect them- I do. It's hard though, to lose people when we're so close to the end!

anyways. Just a small update since I knew you guys would understand! Only one semester left for me... End of July and the count down is on!

Two of my cohort failed Med-Surg I and decided to continue in the traditional program. It was sad to see two of our friends be left behind and one of them is active in our cohort's Facebook group. I am sure it was difficult for her to read about us graduating, passing NCLEX, and getting our first nursing jobs while she still had another year to go. They will be joining you this summer and will graduate with your cohort.

Congratulations on finishing the hard semester. Summer session will be very busy, but with a very low probability of failure. Almost the entire cohort was on the Dean's List for summer. You are in the final stretch and the finish line is within sight.

Congrats on finishing third semester! We lost 7 our first semester. It is sad not seeing your whole original cohort moving forward together. I am hoping we all make it this semester!
