How many lost jobs due to nursing school?

I'm just wondering how many have lost their jobs because nursing school got to be too demanding? This morning I called in and told my boss I wasnt going to make it in today. I had a patient assessment due today at 4. I only work 3 days/week as is. I could tell he was upset from the way he snickered on the phone but what could I do. Who knows what will happen tomorrow when I go in. I often feel like I have to make a choice between work and school and sometimes family. I just wanted to know if I was the only one feeling this way.

Due to the fact that you are blessed to have a supportive husband concentrate on school it will get more difficult as time goes on.

After two and a half years working full-time and going to school part-time, our organization underwent a major overhaul. After a few weeks at the beginning of my last year of school, I was spending over 40 hours a week at work and the demands just kept coming. I had to give my notice in order to save my grades in school. Thankfully, it worked...I went from an F to a B after studying my ass off on materials before a third quiz and the midterm. But...I still hate that I had to do it. Sometimes, I feel like I failed. But, I also know that I wasn't that happy there anymore and that I should have left months prior.

Nursing school is hard enough, without all the stress of a job on top of it. I'm looking for part-time work right now, just to make some ends meet. But...nothing so far. Good luck!

i start in march and i am teriffied that i will have to quit my job. does anyone know how i can get into private duty without nursing experience.

So are those of you all who aren't working living off loans? I'm debating between a night/weekend BSN program so I can keep my (demanding) job or quitting and doing a direct entry MSN program. But loans make me nervous... I have a mortgage!
