My main biggie-worry is Med-Surg. So tell me, what does anyone else think is the best way to review so many chapters? My final is this coming Thursday. Some of my classmates said they'll read their Saunder's NCLEX-RN review book...Some said they were just going to go through their Med-Surg text and refresh themselves on patho, nursing management, and meds for various disorders and diseases.
Anyone have any tips for studying for finals?

I like studying from Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN. It summarizes lots of information and then will give you NCLEX like test questions and answers. The answers explain the rationales...so that you can understand why you missed the question and it sure helps reinforce it in your brain.

I did a combo of NCLEX review books and going over all the lecture notes. I didn't really focus too much on the chapter reading, too time consuming. I stuck to the lecture notes and the NCLEX review questions which tickle that old critical thinking bone and help a lot. Good luck on your exam!
Thanks y'all. So far I've used my textbook and reviewed the study guide that came with my text. Just when I think I've got a handle on things I remember that there are a lot more disorders/diseases to review! Worried about becoming scrambled with all the meds too.

Apparently, I study for finals with my butt glued in front of the computer, reading allnurses posts....ahhh, procrastination!
Now that I have been reminded of what I SHOULD be doing, I guess I'll have to go do it!

My last nursing final is tomorrow. :) I'm crunching right now and a bit worry because it is a standardized test (HESI). I only study my lecture notes - and if I feel lost on a topic I go to the books. This has always worked for me. Good luck everyone on their finals.
C'mon graduation!
