My school does not require an exit HESI exam, but rather has each student in level 3 take it to determine how well they will do on the NCLEX. Well, I took it in level 3 and failed it. I am now in level 4, graduating in May and was given the opportunity to take it again. I just got home from taking it a second time today and yet again, failed it! :imbar
I did improve my score from the first time, but still failed. There were things on there that I have never heard of before! I just feel that my nursing program hasn't prepared me enough to successfully pass the NCLEX. I am terrified now that I really won't pass it when the times comes. However, I do know a bunch of people who have graduated from the same school in previous semesters who failed the HESI but passed the NCLEX. This does give me some hope, but at the same time makes me so anxious. I'm not ready to graduate and take the NCLEX! Every free minute that I get, I try really hard to answer NCLEX questions, but that obviously isn't helping me! I use the Saunder's NCLEX book, and NCLEX made easy to study with. I also have the NCLEX 3500 review on my computer which I use. I am also the NCLEX review coordinator at my school and run sessions each week where we watch NCLEX dvd's. What else can I do??!?! I feel like I am doing all that I can but nothing good is coming from it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Graduation is right around the corner, which is so exciting, but at the same time so scary because I know the dreaded test is getting closer! I just want to pass the NCLEX so that I can move on with my life!!!!!! HELP!!!!!

Does anyone know if there are specific HESI review books or is it just to study all nclex materials?

We were required to pass the HESI before the school sent our paperwork in to get the ATT letter. We also took a HESI after each semesters class. I failed just about every HESI. I took the last one 5 times before finally passing with a high enough score. I passed my NCLEX on the first attempt. IMO the HESI is nothing like the NCLEX unless they have radicaly changed either one in the last year. Keep your head up, have faith in yourself, don't base your knowledge base on one test format. I wish you all the best.

They don't have the HESI at my school, but from what I have read, the fact that the HESI is a good NCLEX predictor is just a bunch of hogwash some marketing genius is selling to schools.
