Help - Med/Surg or OB preceptorship??

My 2 choices I put down for preceptorship were Peds and OB. I didn't get the inpatient Peds spot. There are possibly OB and for sure Med/Surg spots available. OB is one of the areas I would like to pursue after I graduate, but I feel like there are not many jobs available in that particular field? Also when I did my clinical in OB, I didn't get a lot of experience BUT this may be because it was clinical not precept. But I feel if I do M/S preceptorship, I may not have the opportunity to get a job in OB.

Would I benefit more from precepting in OB or M/S? Thanks!

You do your preceptorship in the field you want.....however they will probably require you to have med surg experience befoer they hire you for OB.

By OB, do you mean postpartum? My nursing school BFF did her practicum in postpartum and really felt swindled, as she didn't really do much of anything. LDR might give you some good experience, but if I had to pick between postpartum and med-surg, I would do the med-surg.
