Help Decide!

Nursing Students General Students

Hello. I am having trouble deciding between two different nursing schools of which I have been accepted. One is a community college 30 minutes away and the other a state college 50 minutes away. The community college will have 45 students with five semesters and the state college 23 students with four semesters. I am torn on what is best for my family. I have two kids, 14 months and six years and driving time may be a factor. I only have a couple of days to decide and I have no idea which to choose. I do know that the state college will have it's clinicals in the same area, but the community college I will have to travel and additional 45 minutes to get to the hospital. HELP!!! I am trying to decide. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

first off CONGRATS on getting accepted to not one but TWO schools! Great Job...too me i think the state college sounds better, but that's just because i hate to drive all over to get to the hospitals...the closer the better, but only you can decide what's right for you and your family!

Congrats! That is awsome news. I would look at the reputation of the two schools. Which one has the higher percentage pass boards, try to see the difference between the passing rate versus how many drop out from the beginning to the end. Also look at the graduates satisfaction rate, also look at your state board of nursing for information on both schools. Have there been problems, are they on probabtion are they accredited. Those sort of things. Good luck. The most expensive is not always the best. :)

Since I can't stand long commutes that would be a significant consideration if it were my decision.
