graduating in one week, a little nervous about ERI test

So at my school we have to take these things called ERIs and they are the most horrible scary tests i have ever taken. To graduate we have to pass the cap test by ERI, we get two tries and a practice test before, well the teacher did not schedule enough time to take the practice test so every one rushed through the test. what we found out when we took the actual test was that the practice was almost the exact same test. well basically 14 out of 20 people failed this test. well we get another chance on thursday to take it but it will be a different form, and we also got another chance to take the practice test, on the practice test my sister and i passed with flying colors and are feeling much more confident about the 2nd attempt, we read through and wrote down all the rationales from both tests, we are going over our weaknesses and know we will pass. the problem is that both of us can't shake the what ifs, there is a lot riding on this test and i know we are ready but we are having trouble staying positive, any advice on the different forms of the test, anybody that has taken ERI, or advice on how to stay confident would be greatly appreciated. sorry about the long post but we are so close. thanks so much

We have ERI's every semester and they are actually 10% of our course grade. Eek!! :uhoh3:

yeah we do too this one is just the last one before graduation so a little more scary

We took a few each term but now in 4th (& last) term we are taking them all over. Our school was doing pretty awful so now we are required to be above the national average or the student has to do remediation & then take the test over.

I've passed them all first time so far & really am only sweating the pharm one (8/28). I passedit the first time but who knows this time. In addition we have to take tests online from Kaplan. Now, they are harder for me. I am not happy with my scores on them. Passing but not realy good.

Supposedly these will help make passing NCLEX easier. I sure hope so.

my school claims that these tests are good with predicting who will pass the nclex

tell me how the ONLY guy who scored superior on this exam flunked the nlex with the max question??

and on top of that...like 90% of the class flunked this exam the first time and still, people were able to pass the nlex the first time??....

i have a friend who scored 50% taking this exam and she passed the nclex with no problem...i dont think its THAT good of a predictor....

We take ERI as well. I hate them. I don't think they're very helpful at all...they're "rationale's" don't always make sense in English!!

My school uses the same thing. I have read so many bad reviews on ERI and we have to pass the same test to graduate in two weeks. They gave us a reveiw book to use and we have to watch the videos with them and I have five other nclex reveiw books and the ERI one is nothing like the others. It's because the school is on probation for nclex pass/fail ratios. We have tried to get our school to change it and get another one that is better but they just sent a memo to the ADN fall students that you have to pass 3 ERI exams before you can even start the second year. Needless to say, I'm changing schools for my second year. I'm an LPN student by the way. good luck to you, ERI is scaring me.:no:

Lisa, GOOD LUCK on your test! I was so happy to find this website and read some of the postings. I am a student in Michigan and I am visiting Colorado in February to take the entrance exam for the nursing program at Concorde. I have not been able to meet or talk to ANYONE who is in the program. I would really love to hear what you thought of the program. Did you feel it was difficult to get in? If you could please respond with some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

I am not sure what an ERI is yet but it sounds terrible - - you will do fine!
