I keep hearing horror stories that if I don't make straight A's in A&P and Micro, I might as well hang up dreams for becoming a nurse. Is it really that competitive for a BSN? I am sitting on a 3.8, but haven't taken either A&P or Micro... words of wisdom anyone?

You should check with your school and see what criteria they use for admission. It varys a lot by school.

At my college, they base admission to the nursing school on your GPA in what they call "core courses", which are AP, Micro, English, Algebra, Psych. This semester they only took people with a 3.5 or above on the core courses. They expect to be even higher next semester.
