Ive applied for a few positions at my local hospital (patient transporter, sitter ect). My job profile says that the positions are no longer accepting applications and they have been that way for about 2-3 weeks. Is it appropriate to call and follow up on a job app? If so, what should I say? This is my first time applying for hospital jobs so Im not entirely sure whats proper etiquette

I wonder the same thing! In the non-medical world, I've always followed up on applications, but wonder if that's appropriate in the nursing world....

It is fine to follow up. Simply ask something like ..."What is the status of my application for xyz position?"

If you can get a hold of someone at the hospital then go for it, it can't hurt,m but I have found that it can be very hard to get a number, much less get anyone to talk to you. I kept applying for a year online before I got a call. Most of my apps still say "no longer accepting job applications" but they never officially "reject" my app either. Its really frustrating. Good luck!
Thats exactly what I was afraid of
