Flushing JVAC drain?

So, I'm going to be helping about a family friend who recently had surgery. I'm actually a week away from graduating, so this role isn't unfamiliar to me. I just plan on doing a quick assessment, changing her dressing, and flushing her jvac. The only problem is that I am not using to flushing JVAC drains and was wondering if anyone could explain the procedure. I looked at the drain and couldn't find where i could actually stick the syringe to flush out the tubing. I know that it needs to be at the base of the tubing and not at the suction part. There were alot of connections of tubing but no port. Help!

Having a little trouble find the port in which I put my syringe of ns in. I know that there has got to be a port at the base of the tube but I can't see to find it and I didn't want to take the whole thing apart. Help!

You're providing like private home care??? Did they not have a home health nurse come and show them the procedure and show family members how to do it to ensure safety and that it's done properly?

My dad has weekly infusions done, he has a port in his chest. I have done them twice, but a Home Health nurse for the VA came and trained family how to do it and left material with detailed explanation as well. I would not feel comfortable just winging it and preforming someones assessments and stuff. In fact, I am pretty sure if you messed something up or did the "assessment"and said they are ok, and they ended up tanking or something after you said they were OK, or with a serious infection while under "your care" you could be held liable.
