Financial Aid for nursing students

Hi, I will be starting pre-reqs for nursing school this fall and attending nursing school next year at the bachelor's level. I already have a BA degree, but was wondering if anyone knows if there are any opportunities out there for financial aid for second degree candidates. I will be taking out loans, but I just want to exercise my options. Thanks a lot!!

I also have a BA and am now attending an ADN program. I have found that I do not qualify for any financial aid other than student loans. However I did apply for a scholarship through school that supposedly doesn't disqualify me because of my prior degree. (I hope to hear if I got it soon :D )

If you are working, I would check with your employer to see if they offer any type of tuition reimbursement. Mine pays 75% of tuition and books (up to $2000/yr).

There is also a website: Fastweb.com that matches you with scholarships that are out there.

I hope this helps, good luck.

Try going to the US department of education's site and read up on what is offered by the federal government. Also call your state higher education commision (or go to their site if they have one) to see what they can offer. Allot of states have grants and scholarships for nursing students as an incentive to keep them in that state.

Good luck!!
