Final semester! December/Fall 2017 Graduates!

Nursing Students General Students

Hey there!

I start my final semester in nursing school and I'm really excited, nervous, scared, nervous, happy, giddy, nervous, etc.

Well as you can see I'm very nervous. I want to do well this last semester, but I feel like having the summers off (program changed to give us summers off where they previously went straight through it) has made me forget everything.

Anyways, with how nervous and excited I am I figured why not start a thread for any and all (LPN/ADN/BSN/MSN/DNP/etc) to talk about ANYTHING. First job application, exams, clinicals, etc. I just feel like some of us may need a safe(-ish) space to vent while others may need a space (other than family infested social media) to share good news. Let's use this as a way to encourage each other!

Good luck to everyone and I hope you'll feel free to share news, vents, etc with me!

First off congratulations! Secondly sorry to invade your thread being that I'm going to my third semester (August 2018 grad). I'm pretty excited to start next week. Also, I've secured an extern position at my local hospital! Im trying to debate when to quit my fast food job which I kind of feel bad doing because they're short staffed. I have to take Medsurg 2, OB & PEDs and Pharmacology this time! Say a prayer for me! I already feel a tad overwhelmed! How has your journey been so far?

When I got my job at the hospital as a patient Care tech, I had to quit my old job at a daycare and I felt so bad because they always needed people, but I didn't feel comfortable doing two jobs that both needed me full time (I was working prn for both jobs and they'd schedule me full time if they knew I was out of class.)

Right now, I am so nervous about next week. We have orientation for our community clinical and our preceptorship placements get announced next week as well as the first day of lecture.

We took pharmacology in our 2nd semester and we had med-surg 2, OB, and peds in the spring. That's quite a selection of classes you've got heading your way! Good luck to you!

I'm also PRN at the hospital. I love the flexibility of it. And I went from being able to work 1-3 days at the other place to being pressured to work 5 due to loss of a manager and a server. Next week I have class Monday & Wednesday with clinicals Tuesday &Thursday so they will have to figure something else out. And Lucky you getting to take pharmacology early. My second semester I took Mental Health Nursing and Medsurg l. I hate going to orientations they're always so long and boring. But, you'll do just fine. :)
