It was 2 hours and 16 minutes....it drones on and on, but if you haven't had Pharm, and don't want to read about it, I would at least watch it. It's got the basics of it all....I had to take breaks to take a nap honestly. If you can read it faster than watch it, I would. So the careplan class is the Monday of spring break? hmmm...what time, do you remember?

it supposed to be online somewhere on El Centro's website...I honestly haven't seen it. Someone told me about it.

What video are you all talking about?
  3. by Yin Yang
It's the pharmacology video done by McCarty...we missed our Pharm lecture due to the SNA thing in Galveston (the campus was closed for Thurs/Fri).
But, we are still responsible for the material. It's a Tegrity Presentation. Good luck at orientation!

I didn't realize that Monday was the week of Spring Break. I might be able to do that. It just bugs me a little that we have to pay and take a separate class to learn how to do it. I mean, we are in nursing school. If care plans are a part of nursing, shouldn't it be included in our curriculum?
I hear ya Jaxia! and also, I think a careplan book and drug handbook should have been included in our box of books that cost $600!

Anyways...have you guys thought about your community project yet? Any idea on what you might do. I'm trying to find something to do, so I can possibly complete that over spring break...or not.

I think we discussed our projects the first day of class, and haven't talked about them again. We might get to do our own thing, or we might have to do something that our teacher picks. We don't know yet.

Yang, is tomorrow the day we're supposed to bring all our junk?

I went to see Body Worlds yesterday. It was neat, but I had to keep reminding myself those weren't just plastic models -- at one point s/he was a living breathing being. I was disappointed that there weren't more female models. I think I appreciated getting to see the diseased body parts the most -- now I know what cirrhosis of the liver looks like, a heart after a stroke, an aneurysm, and things like that. It definitely puts things in perspective.

Yep, tomorrow is the day to bring our bandage stuff. I'm sooo tired! I can't wait until spring break when I can get caught up on stuff around my house and work. Will we need a drug book in addition to cards do you think? I know they said we had drug books at the hospital. How'd your test go Spill?

Drug book for Monday's class? I wouldn't think so.

Sorry, not a drug book for monday...I meant for use in general. The hospital has drug books for our clinical group the CI said...and we have our drug cards. I'm just trying to avoid buying stuff right now...I'm too dang poor.

Ahh, I gotcha. Well, I don't know, really. I got one off of eBay. I can't think of any time we need one soon, so it can probably wait awhile if you want to get one eventually.

Before I had my own drug book, I borrowed one from the college library.

That's a good idea. I'm just not getting any financial aid now and I'm tapped financially. I'm just trying to wait until I can work over summer some and save up some money to buy some of the other stuff I'll need. Thanks Katie!

Well, day one of clinical is over! It wasn't a bad day for me, but not so great for others it seems. I'm just glad to have the first one done...I feel alot more comfortable about it now.
