Did your credits from Chamberlain College of Nursing transfer to a different university?

Hello everyone!

I am currently a student at Chamberlain College of Nursing attending the online RN-BSN option. I have had a great experience so far in the classes, my only concern is how expensive it is. My question is, have any one you attended this school, and then transferred your credits to a different school part way through? I would be interested in transferring to Ohio University.

No. Most places those credits will not transfer. As a commercial school, very rarely are they regionally accredited. That is what you need to look for.

Keiser is expensive too but they're regionally accredited and credits transfer.

Yes, this is so true.

Ask the school. The inability to transfer credits is part the entrapment plan used by the for-profits. You see they want to squeeze every dime out of you that they can. Since you now know how expensive these loan mills are, even though Chamberlain is a minimum of $100, 000 for a BSN and one of the better performing for an industry with terrible graduation and retention rates, that's not saying much. Very important to know how much tuition is and the transferability of credits before you find out the hard way. Most often with these schools those subjects are not brought up and they for the most part aren't telling. You see they are for-profit and predicated on selling you a dream that is more often than not a debt nightmare or worse.

According to Chamberlain's website, they are NOT regionally accredited- which means no transfer is likely to happen. I would get out while I could and transfer to a regionally accredited school. It will mean repeating some courses, but courses you can take somewhere if you want to continue on for another degree.

If you plan on going to chamberlain for a degree like the BSN, make sure you complete the program because their credits rarely transfer. I am speaking from experience. If you are half way through the program and decide to go to another school, you have wasted your money. I sent out my transcript to 6 schools already to be evaluated. They all came back with zero transferable credits. So I have to start from scratch. Thank God I have taken only 3 Classes.

I see a lot of inaccuracies in this thread, so allow this for perspective:

1. Is Chamberlain accredited?

YES. Chamberlain is both regionally accredited as well as CCNE accredited for both the BSN and DNP programs.
