Hi,

Did anyone apply for the HRSA nursing scholarship this year. Just wondering b/c I thought they were supposed to let people know in Sep. if they got it or not. I applied last year didn't get it but hoping I will be blessed this last year of ns b/c I really need it more this time.

have anyone heard whether or not they got the scholarship or not?

I heard just last week through email. I didn't get it because I have a bachelor's degree in another field.

Okay, That's odd I haven't gotten an email or a letter. I know last year they sent me an email saying I did not get it. I have been checking my email and mail everyday for either one. I wonder if they have notified the people who got the scholarship, I am thinking they would have, since they notified you that you did get one. I guess I will keep waiting then.

But another student @ school did - and she has a bachelor's degree. My EFC is $186 so I figured I wouldn't get it - they only chose from those who had $0 EFC - but I did get an email about it last week (Wednesday, I believe)

Congrats to those who did! I guess in a way I'm OK w/it that I didn't - leaves a bit more flexibility for me in the future. Still, it would have been nice.

What's funny is so many people in our school (nsg staff & financial aid) aren't aware of it... seems like a program like that would be encouraged, you know?

What is the hrsa scholarship? Is it for any nursing student/school? How and where do you apply for it? Thanks for your help.

Last Year (Academic Year 2004-2005)

* Nearly 9,000 applications were received.

* 126 scholarships were awarded (total $5.9 million).

* More than 500 qualified applicants received first funding preference (zero EFC and enrolled full time in an undergraduate nursing program)
