I'm a pre-nursing student, at a juxtaposition. I want to be a nurse, I know that much adversity exists to keep me from finding a job, but I feel that it is a worthwhile pursuit. Not really because of the $$$, but I do like to help people and have an aptitude for science. However, I had the notion that I could get into an LVN program and then bridge over. Perhaps it would be easier to get into an LVN program now, and then apply for a bridging program. I have 5 years experience in a private physician's office (internal medicine) as a medical assistant. I am registered also as a phlebotomy tech as well. I would like some different perspectives on my situation.

Depends on the state...the larger states aren't hiring LVNs in hospitals at all anymore...only LTC and nursing homes if that even.
