What do you use to keep track of your schedule, your tests/assignments due, clinical dates, times, and locations, as well as whatever is going on in your personal life? Do you use a pocket planner? Something online or on the computer?

I'm not normally the greatest at time management and organization but I know I'll have no choice but to stay on top of things while I'm in nursing school. I need ideas for what is the best way to record stuff and keep organized.

I used to just use my memory, as I have gotten older and had a gaggle of kids, it just doesn't seem to be functioning properly anymore :| I tried using a planner but I hate purses and would forget it a lot. I just recently got the BlackBerry Storm and I am LOVING it. I was way intimidated by it at first and still have loads to learn on it, but I always have my phone with me since I have 4 kids and it has a great calendar feature on it. Only thing I wish I could do which I might be able to and just don't know it. I wish I could make my calendar info on the computer and transfer it to my phone. It can be a pain to enter it with the phone touch pad. But I can set it to remind me whenever I need, whether it be hours before or days or weeks before. I also just found all these medical apps I can add to it to help when in school and as a nurse. I think I might buy one of those cool binders someone posted though to also keep as a back up.

FutureNovaRn,

Thank you for the link, those organizers are very cool indeed!

I have already ordered myself one from Borders.

:smokin:

Did you get it? Do you LOVE it or what?!

I am also a big supporter of those big desk calendars, I hang it on the wall so I have constant reminders in my face.

I hate when my schedule changes and I have to use white out to change it. I like having things that can be changed.

And this is exactly why I only use pencil when writing on my calendar and planner! Otherwise they would be a fugly mess
