I have just completed my introductory chemistry course. My question: I am thinking about selling the book, but I need to know if there is any possibility that I will need this book for my ADN nursing program. I am just taking the prereqs now.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to keep it. Do you still need to take A & P? You'll need to know how to balance equations etc. for that class and if you think you'll forget the process you may need to go back to the text.
Also, If I were you I wouldn't sell the book back to the bookstore at school. I'd put it up on half.com or amazon.com. You'll get most of your money back compared to just getting a few dollars at the book store.

I am in a BSN program (not an ADN one), but I can tell you that I never had any use for the chemistry book after the semester I took it in (and I still had to take Micro and Phys at that point).

I say sell the book while you can. The school might change to a newer edition or to a completely different book, and then you'll be stuck with it. You won't need a chemistry book in nursing school because the nursing textbooks cover the necessary topics. Even if you plan to transfer to a bachelor's program that requires organic chemistry, an introductory chemistry textbook won't be of much use for that.

I agree with the above post... sell the book. I did not use it as a reference once the class was over. I recommend listing it at amazon.com or half.com. If you wait to list it next year, you will not get much money for it since there will probably be a new edition out.

It was not very difficult, just boring in comparison to other courses. Just brush up on your basic algebra and you will be fine.

You should sell the book, since you will not be needing it.
That's good to hear! I am just dreading it because the Chemistry equations we touched on in Gen Bio just made NO SENSE, but that is probably because we have no previous basis for it. I just finished Algebra with an A and will be taking Intermediate algebra over the summer, so its good to know I will use it there!
Thanks for the replies. I am going to sell it.
