Cheaters-How does your school handle them?

I'm going into my final year of nursing school and have witnessed so many people cheating on exams and swapping papers so that they could save themselves some time.

Some of my professors make it difficult to cheat by handing out various versions of the same exam and assigning seats on exam day (so that students aren't sitting next to their buddies).

Other professors are completely oblivious and allow students to sit where they want and sit at the front of the classroom during the entire exam (which is a very bad idea when there are 100 or more students).

Ofcourse my program threatens that if a student is caught plagarizing or cheating that they could be expelled but that seems to never happen.

So, I'm curious. How does your school handle cheaters?

You know, that's a good question....

one of my friends had the instuctor come up to her during the final...and say "you need to keep your scantron covered...someone behind you is looking at yours..." and the other person was asked to change seats....but that is so difficult to prove.

I'm personally of the opinion that karma comes around and when it gets to the real exam, those people won't know how to study for it....

Yeah, you're right. I'm a big believer in karma, also. I think all of the cheating will come back to haunt them when it's time to take the NCLEX.

They receive a zero on the exam. Will have disciplinary action and possible expulsion. This applies to both people.
