ATI testing?

I started my LPN program this week! I'm wondering though do most schools use the ATI testing? Do you like it? We had to start taking all this basic tests on what your general knowledge is, how you learn, etc. Ugh.

I just took the ATI test on Fundamentals. I did good, but read the book it is very knowlegeable. I found the book for both pharmacology and fundamentals interesting with alot of information that wasn't even covered in the original nursing program for Fundamentals.

This semester the ATI test didn't count toward our grades, but I heard in the future they are suppose to count some toward our grades.

We also weren't charged for the ATI books or CD's.

We have to take the ATI after we take critical care, its supposed to be like a mock NCLEX....we have to pass it or we are kicked out of our program....ughhhh i hope i pass!

Specializes in Level III cardiac/telemetry.

My teacher encouraged all of us to try the PN comprehensive practice test now (at the begining of our program) so we can compare our scores to the proctored one we take at the end. I took it today and scored a 63! I guess that's supposed to be pretty good for the beginning of the program. On the proctored tests we have to get at least a 50. The kind of stuff that I missed on it was things about maternity, labor, and newborns - all of which I have no personal experience with!

Kind of interesting. I like the practice tests because they tell you instantly if you got it wrong and give a rationale behind all the right and wrong answers - really helps your thinking for the real one. I took my proctored nutrition one on Wednesday and the practice test really helped!
