I am applying to bshp in the Spring of 18, anyone else applying?? The wait is killing me. I would also like to know what others may have received on the teas etc

I applied to BSHP for the Spring program. I was told that they would let me know end of Sept. My GPA in micro and A&P 1&2 is 4.0 and my cumulative teas is 91.3. What are your stats?

Calcgirl314 Im pretty sure you will get in with those stats!! So far, I have 2 C's one in Micro and one in A&P 1 I'm currently enrolled in A&P 2 hoping to receive an A in that. I know they look at your teas scores by each individual section so for each of those I passed that well above what they're asking. I wonder how large the classes are?

I also was wondering about that. Are you going for LVN, LVN to RN or RN? I've been reading some of the previous posts from students that formerly attended BSHP and I think it depends on which program you apply to. I think from what I've heard the max number of students they accept into the RN program is 60. I applied to the LVN to RN program.

Ohhh okay. 60 is not bad, that's a fairly large class. I'm applying to the RN program. I have completed all my additional prerequisites too. I'm really hoping to get in.. I have 4 years of medical field work related experience also. I just want to to know yes or no already lol is the LVN to RM program any different than the RN program? Or would we all be together?

The LVNs get to skip a semester. Same program, just shortened. I have all my other general education courses done with the exception of one, which I am working on now, so hopefully I will be able to skip ahead another semester and do 3 semesters of the RN program vs a 5 semester program. Are you going for days or evening/weekends?

Ooohh okay I see. From what I understand the spring program is only a day program. And the fall offers day or evening/weekend. Do you live in Texas or are you from Texas if you don't mind me asking?

Oh ok. I do live in Texas. The LVN to RN program is evening/weekends only is why I asked. The summer start for LVN to RN is advertised as day only. I'm thinking they take fewer people for the LVN to RN program. I know of other colleges accepting only a handful of LVNs to fill the places of people who failed out of the RN program. I don't know if BSHP does that or if they just purposefully set aside spaces for LVNs. I live in Austin, and there is only one Community College with an ADN program in my area and it is very competitive to get in. I dare say as competitive as some of the local BSN programs in my area. I just really need to hurry up and get my RN. As the years go by life only gets more challenging and more places are requiring RN, especially BSN RN.

How old are if you don't mind me asking? I didn't know that the lvn to RN program was evening only. So I'm assuming this will be separated from just the RN program. I actually am moving there from California for family purposes and it just happen to line up with schooling, our nursing programs are ridiculously impacted we have a lottery system here and wait lists that are at least 3 years long. What are some nice areas near or in San Antonio?

It's pretty common here too as far as waitlist a are concerned. Sometimes people opt to do LVN if they don't have a high enough GPA and many programs will offer a seat to the RN program after the LVN has been completed. LVNs join the RN students at the second semester. It's the same program, LVNs get to skip a semester due to experience and education. I don't know about nice places in San Antonio as I live in Austin, a 90 minute drive thereabouts. There are private schools like BSHP and Galen that don't have waitlist but tuition is high.
