Any tips would help

Nursing Students General Students

I haven't been in school for 10 years now and I'm getting ready to start my pre-reqs for nursing. I'm only taking 2 classes this semester. English and AP. I was just wondering if you could all give me some suggestions to help me in classes and getting the work done. I have 4 kids and a husband so I'm very nervous if I will be able to do all of this and learn that stuff I need to know. Are your classes usually just lectures? Any tips on taking notes? What will I need for the first day of class? Do you usually have homework the first days of class? Thanks for all the help.

Can I buy flash cards or are they something that you have to make on your own. I was looking in my book and it said something about flash card so I thought I might be able to buy them.

Enlist your husbands help!

Mine sure does....

and always set things out the night before (kids school things...clothes, bookbags, etc...)

Make a chorelist for the kids to help with! Mine sort of do, but usually only if I have a fit! LOL!

And I work on the weekends.....6p-6a and a couple of evenings (4 hour shifts) throughout the week.

We know it's a struggle, but we've settled in for the long run, and are pulling our belts a little tighter. But by doing that, we can also see ahead to the future (that it may be a bit easier when Mom graduates!) :)

Hang in there, and keep posting those ideas! We sure can use them!

:) I do my studing at home when the kids are in school and the wife is at work.I also try and get some homework in between classes at the Library or at the Cafeteria.Once you get started you will be able to fiqure out what works best for you.So far Pre Algerbra has had the most homework.2-4 pages a day.About 10 questions a page.Good Luck!Starting my 3rd semester tomorrow and loving every miniute of it.;)
