Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of another antimetic drug besides reglan? your help is appreciated

Thanks Born2b

the outcomes were only w/ high doses (like 5mg IV) - typically we only use max 1.25mg...and it was in those who were predisposed to QT prolongation....not many at all were afflicted...it was a money war between pharm distributers (they pushed the issue to get it off the market)

dronabinol(delta-g-tetahydrocannabino) from pot.

works great for chemotherapy sickness.

Well its not off the market.. We still use it some, depending on which doctor has the patient.. Some of our doctors don't use it... We usually use Kytril or Phenergan...

I work with Ortho patients...

Anyone else have elderly patients become completely and utterly confused after giving Phenergran (Low dose, 12.5mg)? I've only seen it a few times and it's been elderly women every time. And when I say confused, I mean going from a sweet little old lady to zero orientation.

yep...phenergen can do that - little old ladies need less...

also - something i have seen quite frequently - when given to young women (18-27) a diskinetic like effect - they become very agitated - want to leave - kick their feet and cry like a five year old..the first time i was like "what the..." then after that - i explained to them and whoever was w/ them prior to administration that this might happen...weirdest thing.
