2017 BSN University of South Alabama

Nursing Students General Students

Has anyone received an acceptance letter yet from the University of South Alabama for the accelerated BSN program? I applied for spring 2017 and I haven't heard back from the school yet.

I applied and also have not heard back from USA yet. I called a few weeks ago and they said letters would go out early to mid September so I'm hoping any day now.

Well that makes me feel a little better! I am so nervous. I'm going to email the advisor on Friday to get an update. I'll let you know what she says. Will you please let me know if you hear anything?

I am also very nervous! But yes, please keep me updated and I will do the same for you!

Ok Tmb11b,

Not sure what your name is, lol. I just emailed my advisor and she said "Files went out this Monday, so phone calls will be made next week". I am not sure what she means by files. Maybe all the students that are accepted, or all the denial letters. lol Either way, I can assume that if we are getting in, we should get a call next week. This waiting game is killing me!

Would you mind telling me your Pre-requisite GPA? I am nervous about mine, 3.5. From what I hear, the acceptance is based off of that alone and this summer program was very competitive. My advisor told me last time that for this fall program, they didn't take anyone below a 3.6 gpa. This is my second time applying. I was placed on a waiting list earlier this year. I have a BS in Health Science. What is your Degree in?

Thanks!

Melanie

Hey Melanie,

My name is Taylor! Yeah I'm not sure what files means either but hopefully that means It's not a denial and we are still potentially getting phone calls! But seriously this wait has been killing me as well!

As for the GPA part... That's crazy that 3.6 was the lowest. I am currently sitting with a 3.4 prereq GPA. My degree is in Biology from Florida State University but I have been continuing to take classes since I graduated, some of which were at USA and I did well so I hope that helps. I really hope they consider the full package and not just the GPA. It is also nice to hear that this is your second time applying because I believe I may try and apply again if I am not accepted this term.

Thanks for the update and hopefully this wait ends soon!

Taylor

Hey Taylor,

I just received my University Acceptance letter today. Still no word on the nursing school acceptance. I was just wondering if you have heard anything?

Hey! No I haven't heard anything yet and it's been 10 weeks. This wait is taking forever!

I'm so excited! I got a call today to schedule a phone interview! I won't be able to do it until Friday. I will definitely let you know how it goes. I hope you get one this week as well! Fingers crossed!

Hi all!

I completed a 10-minute phone interview yesterday and found out I was accepted. Classes begin January 2. I hope to hear that we are all accepted! I was told that advising packets would go out late October.

Stats:

My overall GPA is a 3.24 and my pre-req GPA is 3.64. I have a B.S. in Microbiology from Auburn University. My background included 1.5 years working at a doctor's office as a medical office assistant.

Congrats! I'm so nervous! How did the interview go? Mine is scheduled for Friday.

Hi Mparker31!

Thanks so much! The interview wasn't bad at all. I was asked why I chose nursing, how I plan on paying for the program, and plans after the program. After I answered those questions she gave me more in-depth information about the program.
