:nono: I MUST NOT FAIL IS WHAT I KEEP TELLING MY SELF I GRADUATE JUNE IST CAPPING AND PINNING IS MAY 31 . I HAVE TO TAKE PED AND ISSUES AND TREND THEN MED SURG 3 . STRESS STRESS STRESS.

I was all happy until tonight. I had my first college algebra lecture. The instructor talked so fast that I wanted to cry halfway through because I was so lost. I'm just going to try to teach myself from the book, and hope I keep up. I'm supposed to graduate in May. I feel overwhelmed.

Nursetee, stay positive! Replace "I must not fail" with "I can do this!" You've made it this far, so you CAN do it!

Angelica, I had a hard time in algebra too. My teacher had a heavy accent, and spoke very fast, and I always got lost during lecture. But, knowing I HAD to have that class, I stayed after class to ask for help, and I went to a math tutor. Most colleges, I think, offer math tutors, or at least a math lab, for free. If you don't get something, see the teacher, ask him/her to slow it down for you, or show you another way to do it. And don't walk away until you understand it, and have done a few practice problems.

Good luck!

You must not fail, you must not fail, you must not fail. You have made it this far! Hang in there and count down the days.

You can do it! Good luck.

Angelica, you are only taking college algebra now? Are you in the nursing program? I'm just shocked because in order to get in many nursing programs, college algebra needs to be done before getting in the program.

Definitely check to see if you have a math lab. They have tutors that work directly through the lab. Good luck to you!

Kris

Kris,

I'm supposed to be graduating this May. That's why I'm so stressed out. I got so worked up today I started crying (emotional breakdown kind of sobbing). Of course, that only puts me in a state of mind where I positively cannot learn anything. I will definitely seek out a tutor.

My nursing program only requires that students be eligible for college algebra (successfully completed beginning and intermediate).

Specializes in ICU-Stepdown.

I graduate early December 2003 (IF I survive!). I have a year in front of me, and already I feel stressed!

I'm in Psych right now, and am so bored, I can't keep my eyes open long enough to read the chapters, and the clinicals are JUST as boring! AUGH!

help.

sniff!

I am also a working nursing student. I just finished up my LPN portion of the program and took my NCLEX las wednesday......YIPEE I PASSED........now I am working on the RN protion (psych) and all I can say is that I am bored out of my mind. I dont know how those nurses do 8 hours a day of that!!!:chuckle

Nursetee, hang in there YOU CAN DO THIS, YOU CAN DO THIS, YOU CAN DO THIS. You have made it this far. My pinning ceremony is May 17th and I graduate May 18th. Come on we are in the home stretch here, the ninth inning. We CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
