TNCC, new nurse, please help.

Nurses General Nursing

Hi all!

Apparently my boss wants everyone on the ER unit and ICU to get our TNCC before January 2016. I am a new nurse in the ER, 6 months in. I bought the book and will start studying pretty soon. I am part of the Emergency Nurse's Assoc. and will probably enroll into their TNCC course after looking over the book. I hear looking at the book first prior to getting into the class is the best thing to do.

I am afraid since I do not have a lot of experience as a nurse that I will fail my TNCC. I had a nurse who is my charge nurse at times (a nurse for 5+ years) failed the test. That makes me nervous!'' Does anyone have advice about this certification or the exam?

How much time do you need to study prior to taking the class/test?

Thanks you guys!
