From my understanding anyone can get student loans (strafford loan). I do not believe they can turn you down.

Now if you are tying to get a student loan from your local bank etc, then yes they can turn you down for bad credit. Talk to you finacial aid dept.

i was in the same boat - couldn't get loans because i filed bankruptcy (now six years ago) and couldn't get grants because i already had a bachelor's so they wouldn't pay. i went to a community college, filed for a board of governor's fee waiver here in california and got free tuition. if i hadn't already graduated from another school i could have gotten free books and childcare too. community colleges are quite a tremendous deal, however waiting lists can be long!!!

Anyone can get student loans through the Fed. Gov't. no matter your income, what your credit score is even with a bankruptcy. But, if you are in defalt of a student loan, ill. alien, or you have poor grades already then yes they will yank your funding. You can go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm you can look all this up. I hope it helps.

I am attending a comm.college and they told me that they do not take the stafford loan due to numerous students not paying.. I am at a lost as to what to do next. Thanks again
