I sent an email to a recruiter today for a GN residency because when i went to apply for the job it said it was no longer posted, so i sent her an email with all my info and stuff they asked for in the description as well as a copy of my cover letter below the email, and Since i did this at 6am after bootcamp i must have been delirious cause i sent the wrong cover letter that was addressed to another company!!!!!!!!!!!! shoot me in the face please! :banghead:

I would just re-send the email. They probably wont remember your name from the one addressed to the wrong company and if they do at least you made an attempt to correct your mistake.

well its not so much addressed to the wrong company, in the cover letter it says "im very interested in case management" which was geared for the other companies position and it also says, "I was referred by my classmate so and so". : (

I would still re-send it. Don't read too much into it. Everyone makes mistakes. I am wishing you luck!

I'd resend it. What more damage could correcting it do?

Best of luck!

Hey, it happens. Pick yourself up and re-send it.

It will be all right.

Were they even asking for a cover letter? If the recruiter was smart she would either disregard the letter or just change it to reflect whatever job you want. I wouldnt stress it, they know you are applying to multiple jobs just like they are talking to multiple applicants. If you feel really stressed, since the correct one with an Oops message.

That's tough. I'd just correct it and resend. They are likely getting so many apps that they won't recognize it.

Honestly though, if the job isn't posted anymore, it doesn't look like they are accepting applications anymore.

I agree, I don't think it was as stupid as you think it was. Good luck to you!

I have done that more then once .

I agree with Ashley -- if it's not posted any more, they are likely not accepting any more applications. Can't hurt to email it again anyway, just in case.

Write a new, more personalized one tailored to the job you are applying for and resubmit. Honestly, I don't think anyone ever reads them anyway.
