The Rural Nurse Organization has members across the nation and Canada. Rural nursing is a specialty and we need to network with one another. We have a newsletter, "The Rural Nurse Connection", Would like to hear from anyone that might be interested.

I am an R.N. in southwestern Alaska. We are about as rural as you can get. We have 7 miles of road. The only way in or out is plane or boat.I think rural nurses are a breed apart. We call ourselves Tundra nurses. I would love a way to network with other rural nurses,Please share some info with me.

We are not nearly sooo rural, just small.
I live in norht/central IL. have about 50 beds, a fairly busy ER [about 1000/mo]
but are considered small and rural around here.
I guess it's a whole different world where you are.
I belong to another group of rural nurses who network to discuss JCAHO, HCFA, how to deal with issues like that. If you are interested in something like that let me know, I do that from work.
I use this site at home for discussions, support, ventilation, etc.
What is your job up there? Is it like Northere Exposure???

I am in the middle east trying to get my home health agency off the ground it is the first one in this country. I am feeling very isolated here and want desperately to talk with anyone who can help me.

I have never heard of this. I work in a small rural hospital and would be interested in more information about the "Rural Nurse"
I have a email group for rural hospitals, was through egroups, just changed to yahoo.
We have 25 members so far from all over the US., feel free to join if you'd like to network.
As we all know, rural-esp small rural facilities have unique ways of getting things done that some large facilities could not understand!
If you want to join, go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/
welcome aboard!!
