Realistic plan or no?

I have a specific university in mind that I want to attend to pursue my BSN. I attended as an undergrad when I was 18 but had to leave and move back home with my parents because I couldn't keep up with living expenses, and now I'm finishing up pre-requisites at the college near me. It's my dream to graduate from the university though, it slipped right out from under me.

Right now I plan to receive my license from the ASN program at the college, work a year to pay off my loans from both schools, and then move out back to the city where the university is to get the BSN. I read somewhere that some jobs will hire ASNs only if they intend to get a bachelor's ASAP, which I assume would be the case there. (I don't think this would be a problem with the first job, because the job placement percentage of the program is above 90% and I've heard that many nurses found work right out of school.) I also checked out some possible places to work by the university that ask for at least one year experience which I would have.

Am I dreaming or is this a plausible plan to gradute ASN, work only 1 year, and then move to get my BSN?

OP:

Does this make sense to you from a dollars and "sense" pov or is it just a vanity move.

My advice would be to let your employer pay your way especislly if at sometime in the future a BSN will make a difference in your situation.

Why get loaned up again so soon after you've broken free from the surly bonds of indebtedness.

Live a little, first.
