pregnancy don'ts

Nurses General Nursing

Published

If anyone will, please refresh my memory, it's been a long time since this debate has occured where I work:

What patients are pregnant nurses NOT supposed to interact with?

Thanks bunches!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line is it's up to your employer. Pregnancy is not an illness. Yes, there are those that have complicated pregnancies and if your OB confirms that you can request light duty or can go out on disability.

Your employer expects you to perform the duties described in your job description when you come to work. Hopefully you'll work with others that have some understanding when you refuse a CMV or Shingles pt, but if you use Univesal Precations, there is no problem.

Good luck all you preggos! :)
