Bottom line is it's up to your employer. Pregnancy is not an illness. Yes, there are those that have complicated pregnancies and if your OB confirms that you can request light duty or can go out on disability.
Your employer expects you to perform the duties described in your job description when you come to work. Hopefully you'll work with others that have some understanding when you refuse a CMV or Shingles pt, but if you use Univesal Precations, there is no problem.
