"Potty Talk"

Just a slight rant.

One cannot even use the restroom in peace at my place of employment. Every employee bathroom, nurse's station, break room, copy room, pt's rooms, hallway, elevator, cafeteria, locker rooms etc; are flooded with cutesy reminders and hospital news of some sort. Whatever happend to putting in an email or maybe one or two designated areas?

I just about had it yesterday when sitting on the toilet and not one spot of the four walls had an empty spot. All sorts of reminders, press ganey mantras and reprimands posted everywhere. What put me over the edge was a small reminder taped to the toilet roll dispenser! :uhoh3:

Then, as I was was washing my hands in the lower left corner of the mirror was a cutesy little reminder........."Did you sign the sheet acknowledging you read the latest issue of Potty Talk". :rolleyes:

It is sickening! Sorry, just feeling particularly crabby today and I am home :eek:

Btw, Did you wash your hands? Did you check your emails? Did you finish your dot Edu's, Did you smile to all your guests today? Did you sign up for extra shifts? Did you note all your orders? :D

As a matter of fact, MANY times I have seen nurses and aides answering their phone while changing a brief. Especially the nurse in charge. They remove the glove and answer it right away. lol

Ew ^.^;;

Do they not even think of what feacal molecules are attatching themselves to their phone pressed right to their face? Taking a glove off so does not eliminate everything unless your hands are washed, but maybe I'm just a little paranoid XD

I actually find this thread kinda humerous, mainly due to in my facility there's no such thing. Well as a wall full of paper to read, we have generally just a laminated poster saying 'Wash your hands, do you know what you're carrying around?" With some ugly grinning germ blob beneath it.

Doesn't having heaps of paper hanging out in a toilet create some infection control issue? I mean do people touch all these things before washing their hands after they go? It's why we only have a laminated poster in ours anyway.

I have to admit being lectured while having a bathroom break would be pretty irritating after a while.

Oh and note I don't really see the big deal in taking a phone into the bathroom with you, I'm sure everyone has enough common sense to either ring the individual back or finish, wash hands and there you go. Papers though...well I'm less trusting of those XD as they just spend all day hanging out there lol All I can picture is germy things slowly migrating themselves onto them somehow.
